Intent Technologies and Eridanis: two startups featured at the 3rd edition of GDF SUEZ’s Innovation Morning Meetings

What kinds of innovative solutions can come out of collaboration between major corporations and startups? At GDF SUEZ’s 3rd Innovation Morning Meeting, which took place on March 31st, 2015 at the Village in Paris, two startups gave valuable testimony about their experiences in the presence of Axelle Lemaire, Secretary of State for Digital Affairs in the Ministry of Economics, Industry and Digital Affairs since April 2014.

Two concrete experiences about connected objects and data security

1/ Connected buildings with the startup Intent Technologies

What if our buildings resembled our smartphones? IntentOS is a digital services platform developed by the startup Intent Technologies, which is based at EuraTechnologies in Lille and incubated by the CleanTech network. Their project is an interface between buildings and their users (property managers, service providers, local governments). “Buildings can no longer be passive”, said Benjamin Ulrich, CEO of Intent Technologies.

2/ Monitoring gas networks with GRTgaz & the startup Eridanis

In the past, GRTgaz monitored its network on foot, by plane and in helicopters... Now, it can do so via ultra-secure, sensor-equipped monitoring boxes. The project was initiated by Marie-Eve Defauwe, Innovative Project Director at GRTgaz, who reached out to Eridanis, a company created in 2014 by Emmanuel Gavache that specialized in mathematical modeling, telecommunications and embedded computing. It’s currently being tested on 100 local terminals located in difficult zones.

Jean-Louis Blanc, Commercial Innovation New Business Director at GDF SUEZ, confirmed the Group’s commitment to innovation, reiterating that digital technologies are central to the GDF SUEZ New Ventures investment fund’s mission.

At the end of the Innovation Morning Meeting, Gilles Babinet, Entrepreneur and Digital Champion (representative for issues of the digital economy for France at the European Commission), highlighted changes to the image of France, noting the country appears more innovative thanks to the FrenchTech.
