An ambitious New Energy Plan for the Vendée04/11/2014
Tied to its population and economic growth, the Vendée's energy consumption increased 51% between 2000 and 2013, versus 12% on average in France. Determined to act, the General Council presented its New Energy Plan for the Vendée in June. The goal is to satisfy 50% of the Vendée's energy needs with renewable sources by 2025. Several measures will be used. To identify the development potential for renewables, the department will test a pilot program called Terr'Innove. This tool, developed by GDF Suez, should lead to the development of an area-wide energy strategy.
