Real-time city management with Cit’Ease™

Sustainable mobility

First dashboard aimed at elected officials, municipal service providers and citizens, Cit’Ease™ results from a partnership between SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and GDF SUEZ. Launched at the end of 2013, on the occasion of the “Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales” – the annual convention of French Mayors and Local Authorities – in Paris, Cit’Ease™ is a tool that centralizes and cross-analyses the different territorial management data.

Real-time information display is the main asset of the Cit’Ease™ global and interactive dashboard. The interface allows coordination and adjustment in real-time, which makes it a highly efficient optimization tool. The ultimate goal is to achieve perfect balance between available resources and citizens’ needs, reduce water and energy consumption, improve waste management and enhance social welfare.

“The future of cities and all communities relies on this fine interpretation of data”, explains Barthélémy Foubert, sales and marketing manager at Cit’Ease™. “The innovative cross-analysis and interpretation system provided by Cit’Ease™ meets a strong expectation by allowing decision-makers to take action with full background knowledge”. For example, it is now possible to act on fuel poverty at territorial level by identifying urban zones where households spend more than 10% of their income on their energy needs, thus paving the way for intervention, assistance or support policies.

“City managers can also measure progress towards the goals they set out”, the expert adds. Cit’Ease™ leverages the Positive Energy territorial initiative which aims at reducing energy needs and developing local energy sources - according to the following 3 principles: energy sobriety, energy efficiency and renewable energies.

In 2014, the city of Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine, France) has chosen to experiment Cit’Ease™ to monitor public lighting, energy consumption, video-surveillance, safety and security (through events log management) and assess administrative performance. The thematic catalogue will be developed further.
