Innovation at the service of renewable gases and the energy transition

A pioneer in capture, purification and liquefaction technologies for renewable gases, CryoCollect is returning to Viva Technology 2025 with even more mature and ambitious solutions. After a year marked by major advances - new projects, strategic partnerships and industrial deployments - the company will be presenting an interactive model of its flagship technologies, enhanced by innovations around the capture of CO2 after the oxy-fuel combustion process.  On the ENGIE stand, CryoCollect is reiterating its vision: to make the recovery of renewable gases more intelligent, modular and low-carbon, in order to accelerate the energy transition in France and internationally.

Now that we have achieved technological maturity in high-concentration applications, we are broadening our scope to cover the entire spectrum of CO2 sources in future.

Where conventional processes reach their limits, CryoCollect innovates with intelligent, high-performance systems tailored to the customer’s constraints.

Can you remind us in a few sentences what CryoCollect does?

CryoCollect designs cutting-edge solutions to support the energy transition. Our mission is to capture, purify, liquefy and recover renewable gases by using modular and low-carbon technologies with high energy efficiency. Where conventional processes reach their limits, CryoCollect innovates with intelligent, high-performance systems tailored to the customer’s constraints.

Our flagship technologies:

  • CO2 capture and liquefaction: CARBOLIQ. Our cryogenic systems enable CO2 from biogas or industrial processes to be captured, then liquefied to high purity, meeting the requirements of the food and industrial sectors.
  • Liquefaction of Biomethane and Natural Gas: C3E & Cryo-HP.  We offer two ranges of micro-liquifiers suitable for different uses:

          1. C3E (Three-stage cascade): a robust and compact solution optimised for transporting bioNGL by road.

          2. Cryo-HP: a versatile, high energy efficiency architecture for marine and road transportation applications.

  • LIFT: an innovative and versatile technology that combines hot and cold usages in a single modular unit. It can operate in three distinct modes, adapting to seasonal energy needs, whether for industrial or residential applications.

You attended Viva Technology with ENGIE in 2024. What have been the key developments for you since then?

After a year marked by major advances - new projects, strategic partnerships and industrial deployments - we  have launched and signed several major projects, including the Ch0C project, several contracts for LIFT technology as well as agreements with ENGIE for the installation of our BioCO2 units at the CBMAN and Montoir sites.

Other contracts have already been finalised and a number of advanced discussions are under way, both in France and internationally.

What will you be presenting at Vivatech?

The company will present an interactive model of its flagship technologies in bio-methane/natural gas liquefaction and CO₂ capture - also featuring a dedicated unit added after oxy-fuel combustion - as well as the LIFT technology.

What are your expectations for this new edition of Viva Technology?

For this new edition of VivaTech, we’re above all looking forward to having inspiring meetings with executive-level representatives and concrete opportunities for collaboration. We wish to raise our profile among industrial players, territories and investors involved in the energy transition.

It’s also an opportunity for us to:

  • Present the maturity of our technologies after several deployments in the field,
  • Accelerate the deployment of local and modular solutions with a low carbon footprint,
  • Co-build new projects with partners who share our vision for the intelligent recovery of renewable gases.

What’s your next challenge?

At CryoCollect, innovation never stops. We are constantly on the lookout for new ideas and research subjects to support the energy transition.

Our next big challenge is to extend our expertise to the capture of CO2 at low concentrations. Now that we have achieved technological maturity in high-concentration applications, we are broadening our scope to cover the entire spectrum of CO2 sources in future.

What question would you have liked me to ask you?

"How do you see CryoCollect’s role in the energy transition 10 years from now?"

We see CryoCollect as a key player in the low-carbon gas ecosystem in Europe and internationally - with solutions deployed on a massive scale both in rural and in industrial territories. Our units will be standardised, autonomous and interconnected, capable of capturing, liquefying, storing and redistributing energy in the form of renewable gases or useful heat/cold.

Visit the ENGIE stand (J39) at Porte de Versailles in Paris from 11 to 14 June to discover CryoCollect and all the innovative solutions that make ENGIE a major player in the energy transition.
