Artificial intelligence is becoming deeply embedded in energy systems, shaping areas such as grid management, infrastructure planning, and regulatory oversight. As we look toward 2030, understanding how these technologies will evolve, and how they intersect with broader societal and economic factors, is increasingly important.

We will also address the reciprocal relationship between AI and energy: as AI technologies advance, the energy demands of data centers are projected to more than double by 2030, driven largely by AI workloads. This surge underscores the need for sustainable energy solutions to support the growing infrastructure powering AI.

This session brings together leading experts from academic and research institutions across computer science, engineering, sociology, and economics. Together, we will examine how AI may influence the design and governance of future energy systems, with a focus on emerging technologies, new forms of decision-making, and the socio-economic implications of these trends.

The conference will be broadcast online, making it accessible to remote participants worldwide. However, if you are in Paris, we encourage you to attend in person to foster a sense of community, engage directly with the speakers, and connect with other attendees during the networking cocktail. These interactions are invaluable as we discuss the pressing topics that will shape our shared future.
