Open innovation as a goal. As every year, the event will combine inspiring lectures on the future of the energy sector with startup stands to foster connections with corporates in the sector. "Accessing the market is always difficult for a startup," says Elena Bou. The Business Booster was initially conceived with the idea of offering the opportunity for innovative companies to start "conversations" with potential customers or partners, and then bring and accelerate new innovations to the market".
Last year, 2500 business meetings were held over the two days of The Business Booster. "The startup selection is very qualified," praises Jean-Michel Reynaud, Director of Startup Relations at ENGIE. Some projects are riskier than others, but the quality is always there."

These topics have been at the core of ENGIE’s strategy for a number of years. By 2016, ENGIE had already pledged to decarbonise, decentralise and digitise their operations. As Olivier recalls, “We had a head start on the road to decarbonisation, ahead of our peers, with the early closing of the majority of our coal-fired powerplants. This was a bold move at the time, and helped us decrease our emissions by 50% in the first 3 years. A major achievement, it was just the beginning of our long-term commitment to sustainability” (...)
