Description of the call for projects

Purpose

ENGIE and its partners are launching a Call for Projects for the design of an interactive platform that will help industrial sites share their resources: identifying potential flows to be shared, quantifying them and implementing the procedures.

This platform is intended for both industrial sites and for the managers and operators of industrial sites (industrial parks, business parks, port areas, etc.). The goal is to construct a collaborative tool that makes it possible to:

• list the potential resource flows that could be mutualized;

• quantify and/or map these flows;

• develop operational roadmaps to chart out how resource sharing can be accomplished over time, and demonstrating the improvements to be achieved for the industry and for the surrounding area.

Deadline for submissions

Detailed description

The “Platform for resource sharing in industry” call for projects, which is being launched as part of the NWX Festival, in partnership with Rouen Normandy Invest and SEINARI, forms a part of ENGIE’s plan for encouraging innovation. The project is also in line with goals set out as part of Normandy French Tech.

Energy efficiency and effectiveness are major issues for industrial groups. Sharing resources is one way to improve industrial competitiveness and industrial zones. Many industries are interested in sharing energy resources and waste disposal, as well as facility management for their sites. These are fertile areas for improving efficiency and improving competitiveness.

In this context, ENGIE and its partners are launching a call for projects for the design of an interactive platform that will help industrial sites share their resources: identifying potential flows to be shared, quantifying them and implementing the recommended changes. This platform is intended for both industrial sites and for the managers and operators of industrial sites (industrial parks, business parks, port areas, etc.).

The goal is to construct a collaborative tool that makes it possible to list the potential resource flows that could be mutualized; quantify and/or map these flows; and develop operational roadmaps to chart out how resource sharing can be accomplished over time, demonstrating the improvements to be achieved for the industry and for the surrounding area.

The areas of potential sharing listed below could be considered “bricks” for building this new tool; submissions could address one or several of them without necessarily incorporating them all:

• Reverse logistics (returns produces after use)

• Effluents

• Co-products (usable ones, distinct from the main product and which is produced in its fabrication)

• End-energy (lost for lack of storage options)

• Mobility (for industrial and tertiary activity as well as for people working in the area: access via public transport, carpooling, vehicle sharing, etc.)

• Training

• Cafeteria lunches

• Storage spaces

• Security

• Co-working spaces

Eligibility and selection criteria

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria:

- Appropriateness given the subject

- Suitability of the technology to the proposed usages

- Societal, environmental and energy performance

- Societal and social acceptability

Provisional calendar and selection procedure:

- Phase 2: project owners for the selected applications will be invited to present their project in 20 minutes at a roundtable with members of the selection committee in October.

Provisional calendar
