Think Energy Debuts Mobile App as IT Launches Mobile Strategy

Think Energy took two big new steps toward increasing GDF SUEZ’s customer major position in North America over the holidays, when the team placed the Think Energy Residential Mobile App in three online stores at the end of 2014 and entered the Massachusetts residential electricity market on New Year’s Eve.

The mobile app - now available in the Apple Store for iOS devices, Google Play for android devices and the Microsoft Store for Windows devices - offers Think Energy’s more than 11,000 residential customers in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania fingertip access to their account information. Right on their phones or tablets they can review information on their home’s electricity usage, their current bill and bill history, and the average usage and cost statistics of other Think Energy customers in their neighboring area. Subscribers can also receive push alerts from the company on topics such as weather emergencies, energy saving tips, new plans or offers and contract renewals notices.

The debut of Think Energy’s mobile app resulted not only from Retail’s desire to give residential customers a mobile app amenity but also Information Technology multi-faceted mobile strategy plan for North America’s internal and external technology uses. Beyond mobile initiatives like stewarding all of North American external Web sites to adopt mobile responsive designs, IT’s mobile strategy is to work in tandem with other business units and support functions as they develop digital initiatives.

Building on the creation of Think Energy’s mobile app project and IT’s mobile strategy supporting a business’ digital initiative, the IT team is currently at work on a new employee safety app - a business to employee (B2E) project - that will feature North American safety statistics, health and safety tips as well as push notification capability to alert employees of severe weather and office/operating facility closings in their home area.

As part of Think Energy’s celebration of its residential expansion and launching North America’s first mobile app, the company is offering for a limited time a special discount program in which Think Energy will provide a discount to the company’s online rates in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania for GDF SUEZ employees, their families and friends. To enroll via this plan, visit mythinkenergy.com and enter the resident’s zip code and the promo codes for the applicable market: thinkmass or thinkpa.
