AWG is a device that extracts water from humid ambient air. Dew water collection systems are divided into three categories: i) dew water harvesting using the radiative cooling surface, ii) the solar-regenerated desiccant system and iii) active condensation technology.
Atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) is emerging as a promising means of overcoming the water scarcity in arid regions, particularly for inland areas lacking liquid water sources. These technologies haven’t increased as such but now offer new possibilities thanks to their combination with Direct Air Capture research programs. Some challenges remain in order to optimize efficiency and ensure the delivery of good quality water at an affordable cost.
