Current trend of the technology :

Airborne Wind Energy Converters (AWEC) consist in tethered aircrafts that extract high density wind energy at high altitudes (200-600m) with 90% material savings compared to horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWT).

Airborne wind demonstrators are emerging alongside new pilots. We continue to observe a multitude of new concept whilst market players are faced with unknown, external challenges. Technological convergence has not yet happened.
